... a 2.2 GB game. I'm going to check out if it's any good because my friends have been telling me about it. They own 3 year old dell laptops and it was working fine for them so I'm hoping it would work out the same way with me. Nobody likes lag-fests. However, it's taking bloody long! I have washed the dishes and cooked rice already and I still have to wait 10 hours just to try it out. (lol) So I'm going to do some more cleaning just to see how much cleaning it takes for this whole thing to finish (wakaka). I won't be disclosing the title of the game until I've tried it out.
I installed the game (or JenJen did), made an account, and logged in... played for a while... and now I'm level 15.
Haha! It hooked me good. Okay review time!
Atlantica Online
PROS:
I have not played an online game like this before. First of all, it's free. (Yay!) Also, if you're a fan of the final fantasy series, then you'd love Atlantica Online. It's a turn-based strategic game, online! So there are five classes you can pick in the beginning, and the class depends on the weapon you are using - sword, spear, gun, bow, or a staff. The selection is pretty good even for beginners because you see the stats of each class before you pick them. (Which is considerate for first-time players so we don't have to play each character before we pick a favourite - but SOME will still do). You can have mercenaries (other characters in your team that you can control) hired and you can also fire them. You don't have to pay them anything which is always good, LOL. I like this because I don't feel like I'm alone. So solo-ing won't be so lonely. LOL! The tutorial is a lot more interesting than the other games I've played. You will actually read how to do each quest. (The last sister is weird). Another thing that I like about the game is the interface. Everything is well organized. Even the way quests are listed on the top right hand side is well placed. And of course, my all time favourite feature that Talisman Online had, Atlantica also have. Auto-Path, or in Atlantica it's called Auto-Move. Maybe because I'm lazy, but I just don't like getting lost. There is also an apprenticeship system which makes it easier for beginners. I'm not fully sure how it works but the mentors can actually pass on a skill to their apprentices. I know... its SICK! lol! I don't have to learn it myself! lol! It's called "teaching." HAHA! I love the map! The Atlantica world map is actually the World map. Since the game was made in Asia, there's more asian countries featured. I started in Korea =) There was a world notice saying, "Manila is being attacked by monsters." Haha! The community is nice and friendly but of course there are some people who like to ruin things for others. Which is why they made the block list (recommended feature to use!) I don't know how the guild works but so far I see that there are guild quests and guild must be active because if they don't meet requirements, guild gets disbanded. Who here likes being in an inactive guild? *crickets noise*... thought so. So I think that's a pro in my book. The guilds can take over cities and the more cities you occupy the richer and powerful the guild gets. Wee! Also, you can + armours and equipments without going to a blacksmith because you are the blacksmith. *thumbs up and winks* There are players who are hired to help in the game so there's always someone there to answer your questions. FAQ page is very informative as well.
Cons:
It's a bit of a space hogger. 2.2GB. But then again, its half the size of Ragnarok and it looks way better. It's a bit laggy on my side. My friends didn't have the same problem so it depends on your system. I didn't bother me much but it bothered my sister, so just a heads up. The battle scenes take a while since it is turn-based. It's not exactly a keyboard smashing online game. So if you're into that, I don't recommend this game for you. You need to be active in the game to do really well. The level cap is quite high. Also, once you fire a mercenary and hire a new one.. it starts from lvl 1. So if you're in lvl 50 and you unlock a new mercenary, you're going to have to start all over with that specific mercenary. (Those mercenaries are stronger though).
OVERALL, I love it. I recommend you trying it since it is free!! FREE!!! And you see if you'll like it or not. Because people either love it or hate it. Depends on your taste.
If you're going to try it. My username is "CakeOh" and use that name when asked if you were refered by someone. =) I love friends in the games!
Remember, I asked for creative practice? Well my first client is Mr. Carlo SR . I'm going to keep logging my creative process as part of the practice as well. (Though it's probably going to be... "duh!") -_-'
He is the first one because he was the first one who responded to the facebook note.
He didn't really say it but I saw "star wars" in there so I decided to go check up some star wars themed websites since I don't know much about the series. I seen a lot of deep to light blues, gradients, bright reds, and of course black. But he wanted blue (and brown?) Brown wouldn't really make it feel star-wars-y. So I went with this palette:
I wanted to do something clean, not too all over the place... though I kept changing it since I keep thinking it's boring. But I went with it anyways because it worked better than the other colours.
I also found a website that can make logos with the Star Wars logo font. Which I thought was totally awesome! I didn't have to dowload it but I couldn't get the font in a different color other than black with a yellow outline so I still had to photoshop it. I played around with it until I got this:
So I arranged everything in tables. Didn't change much with the positions of things since I wanted to keep it simple. Then I got something like this:
... It was missing something. I wasn't happy with it. It was too clean. I decided that I'll get rid of the plain background and add more drama to it. I looked around for patterns. I tried lined, dotted, squares.. but didn't work. Then I thought... maybe it would be cool to add stars in the background. (DUH!) It took a while to find the perfect one. But when I did, I knew I was done. lol! I was a bit scared of what he might think of it though. I was scared that it might be ... girly? LOL! Because I seriously don't know anything about the theme. I was a bit hessitant to show it to him. Didn't know it the background was too crazy. Haha!

I am staring at the mess in my room and I am not motivated to fix it up at all. I just want to move to the new place! (2010 come already!) My room won't be as big as the one I have now but at least I won't be sharing it with anyone. Woohoo! It's been years since I had my own room! I'm pretty sure my sister is sick of me as well. (WAHAHA) I am so read to paint, to move things around, and to have closet space. I am going to go crazy! lol! I am tired of this house but I am going to miss the neighbourhood. But the new place won't be so far from where I live now. (Closer to the mall, wee! Shopping!) It's also close to a bus terminal so commute won't be so bad. Also, my Toronto people won't feel like I live in the boonies anymore. But there's a possibility that there's another forest to go through before getting to the actual house. (Haha, oh memories with Jason and Parma).
I just can't wait!! I'm going to have my own room! *dances around*
Guys, you have a year to work out. =) Help us move! It'll be fun! lol

"Men, you are made for greatness. Girls, know your worth."
MEN.
I don't know why girls are making men more like girls. There's enough girls in the world! Boys that cry all the time and are whiny are not "sensitive" nor "cute" .. that's ANNOYING. Men are suppose to be strong, brave, and wise. They're the ones who are suppose to protect and take care of us. Who will support us and will not run away when things get uncomfortable and bad. Men are suppose to be sensitive.. but not in a sensitive-of-my-own-feelings way (such as getting jealous all the time) but sensitive of other people's feelings. Being wise with words and knowing the appropriate words to say at the right place and at the right time. They are made for this kind of greatness. To respect and fight for the rights of everyone.
WOMEN.
You have to know your worth. There are many people whether it be men or women who thinks that you are just a thing that can be used. No! You have a voice that matters. Just because MTV says that you won't be lonely as long as you wear skimpy clothes and let people touch you in every way doesn't mean it's true. Just as you want to be respected by others, learn how to respect yourself. Women, know that you are made to submit to your husband. NOT BOYFRIENDS nor best friends. If he ain't your husband.. smarten up and say no. If there ain't not ring in that finger, he is not commiting to anything. There is not sacrifice with "moving-in" either. Be smart and know your worth.
This is what I learned from Gianna Jessen at Joshua Revolution 08. She became less and God became HUGE in her life. Watch and listen to her amazing testimony.
Do you have a special someone? ... A best friend can count.
Have you ever tried matching clothes with them? I don't know if its just an asian thing or a universal thing but we asians like to match with that special someone. My boyfriend and I try, but we usually fail. (Obviously, it's him who has the bad taste in clothing.. HAHA!) It's just the color we try to match, yet we still fail. The notorious in matching couple outfits are the koreans. They match every single thing. I've heard that they even have couple matching stores. They sell everything from apparel to accesories - all with his and hers match.
This is how people in Korea know that they're a couple, and not just friends. (lol) I mean, it is a commitment to have to match with their partner everytime they go out.
I don't know what the point of this entry is... I guess I want to know what people think about this. Is it okay? Or is it too much? If it's okay, is there a bad way and a good way of matching? Also, does it depend on the society I'm in? I live in North America and this kind of thing is quite rare. If you're seen in public like that... people will stare. HAHA!
My sisters and I were talking about things about our body we would like to change. (Haha, I know. A typical girl talk.) Well, most of it are things we can do by just exercising. If only we're that motivated. (lol) But there's one thing I've always wanted - straight teeth. I've seen people at church that had braces and the difference is amazing. Usually, people get braces when they're in high school, and I am totally past that stage. But I'm still hopeful to get them. My Grade 12 law teacher, she was probably in her 40s, had braces while she was teaching. She had invisible braces known as invisalign San Diego, so it didn't look bad since we can't see it. So there is still hope for me. I am only half way her age. (Dang, I'm old. lol) The goal is for me to get it before I get married. I want pretty teeth in my wedding pictures. =)
I have been looking for a bed that I can place anywhere in the room. I thought a day bed would be perfect but the daybed had to have no frames whatsoever so I can have a side table. The daybeds with no frames look like very uncomfortable. They don't even look like beds, more like benches. After a long (days) search on the internet... I finally found the bed I want!
Could work as a night or a day bed, and no frames! So awesome! I read it and it says it comes with a headboad. I don't see any. Also, it comes in dark chocolate color. *drools*
Very creative and very pricey! This one is called the Sullivan Clock. It reminds me of the live furnitures and dishes in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast."
Is it suppose to be cute or something? Is this a new high school trend? I find it a little strange. Is this the new "smile"? I'm not sure if I like it or not... because it's doesn't look bad on some people... Hmmm...
