New Soul
by deeflores [comments?]

I'm a new soul I came to this strange world hoping I could learn a bit about how to give and take.
But since I came here
felt the joy and the fear
finding myself making every possible mistake

I'm a young soul in this very strange world hoping I could learn a bit about what is true and fake.
But why all this hate?
Try to communicate.
Finding trust and love is not always easy to make.

New favorite song, for sure.

Photo Organizer
by deeflores [13 comments]

Just a question for everyone. I really don't like Facebook's photo organizer and I'm looking for a place where I can transfer everything. I have a lot of personal pictures and I'm kind of embarassed to use flickr since artists post up their stuff there. I'm looking for a website where I can store images that organizes like .Mac but free. I've tried Multiply but it's still a bit messy.

I'm looking for:

  • Unlimited Photo Albums
  • Unlimited uploads in an album
  • Easy to view (similar to Facebook, maybe?)
  • Website doesn't load too long
  • Private photos feature (need a password to see)
  • FREE

Am I asking for too much? lol

Any suggestions?

In YOU alone I place my trust
by deeflores [1 comments]

I have come to you in search of faith
Cause I can't see beyond this place
Oh You are God and I am man
So I'll leave it in Your hands

When no one else knows how I feel
Your love for me is proven real
When no one else cares where I've been
You run to me with outstretched hands
And You hold me in Your arms
Again

Only you give me peace. Please don't move. 'Cause I'm falling on You.

It's okay. We're here for you.

[edit] FYI, Roy's the name of Tabulas' father. =)

Where's Dee?
by deeflores [11 comments]

Facebook information and pictures were all taken down.

Tabulas is not updated as often as she used to.

Either away from keyboard or not even online on MSN.

When called, she doesn't pick up.

Where am I? Good question.

Sorry guys. I promise everyone that I'm perfectly fine. I'm just cleaning everything up because I am running out of space everywhere. lol.

I took out everything on facebook because I would like to upload pictures and post up information not for everyone to see but only to certain people. For example, pictures of the youth, I really don't want or think there's a need for other people outside the youth to see them. Well the information pa rt is the same.

I haven't updated Tabulas lately because I'm still getting used to the new Control Panel. Plus, I kind of lost the motivation to because I don't think people even read this anymore. Also, I haven't been easily inspired lately. I'm kind of confused to where I'm suppose to be right now.

I don't like going on MSN because ... it takes too much time! lol And then my internet is not reliable. It keeps on shutting down on me which makes instant messaging frustrating.

The last part... I'm not going to explain

I promise. I'm safe. =)

Effective Advertising
by deeflores [2 comments]

I'm a little bit reluctatnt to admit that I'm a tree hugger. lol. But I guess, everyone knows so THERE YOU GO! HAHA!

I don't tell everyone because I'm scared that people will catch me doing things that are un-tree-hugger-like. Like what I'm about to do now.

I don't take anymore plastic bags or any unnecessary packaging with me but I love this design of advertising. It's sweet, simple, effective, and touching.

I'm sorry for the low quality image. The bag reads "Reach out to children with Autism."

Team Manila
by deeflores [7 comments]

I've been clicking around for "Filipino Pride" shirts that are nicely designed and I found Team Manila! I believe they're new so they don't have much variety yet but I'm totally digging their their design.

Very Design-y

I'm trying to get a hold of them to ask if they do international shipping. Because they should! I love their tees! (Team Manila Lifestyle)

[edit] No luck in finding an online store. Nor even finding their email addy
Now I found another advantage in living in the Philippines. =(

sushi design
by deeflores [10 comments]

This is just a random entry just because I am craving for sushi! (Woot for 5 entries in a row!)

The Design of Sushi
By: Dave Hoffer - January 14, 2007

Sushi, dating back to China in the 2nd century and Japan in the 7th century, is in my opinion, the most well designed human prepared meal.

Sushi combines:

aesthetics - With the naturally occurring colors of fish and vegetables and the cylindrical (Maki) and oblong (Nigiri) forms, Sushi is beautiful. Whether presented singularly or in the context of other Sushi, there is a symmetry and considered quality to the presentation. The rectangular (or square) plates that Sushi is typically served on offset the organic and geometric shapes of the Sushi itself. These are usually muted in color so as to enhance the color of the food. The individual pieces are placed in relation to the plate and other Sushi with a precision that makes the total package (when viewed from the top) very painterly. When viewed from other angles, a Sushi plate looks like a small sculpture garden.

eatability - Sushi can be eaten easily with chopsticks or by hand. While the sandwich and wraps found in almost every culture also rate high in eatability (as you can hold them continuously while eating,) the fact that sushi is bite size puts it higher on my list.

nutrition - It is naturally low in fat and high in protein. What fat it does have is generally unsaturated and rich in Omega-3 The vegetables contain vitamins and minerals and the nori (seaweed) is rich in nutrients. Nuff said.

sustainability - Certain fish should be avoided because they are endangered and the Monterey Bay Aquarium has a good list of acceptable and to-be-avoided fish for your region. It also cannot easily be shipped inland without raising the cost in both physical movement and environmental impact but this is not to say that one could not create a menu of Sushi for locally available fish, meats and vegetables.

taste - Sushi is freakin delicious. Again, nuff said.

Pao & I: Explained
by deeflores [17 comments]

I wasn't going to do this because I thought not everyone has to know our situation. But I realized that we didn't want to be "exclusive" again so I feel that I do owe this explanation to anyone who ... wants it? Haha!

I realized that our situation is a bit confusing to other people when someone asked me what was going on. (haha I love you, you know who you are). I know I can't just go up to everyone and start talking about our story. I don't really know how to explain to everyone so I'm going to this here. You can read on (the novel-like entry) or ask me personally and I'd love to tell you my story.

...
by deeflores [6 comments]

I remember in Grade 12, we had an assembly for graduates. The Principal of the school spoke to us and there was something about what he said that hit me. He told us to look around and see how many people there are in the room. I looked around, the cafetaria that could fit about 500 students, only had about a little more than a quarter of its capacity. Then he said, "Remember four years ago when you were sitting in this room, during the grade 9 breakfast? That room was full, but there's a lot less people now. What you have achieved is something great because as you can see, not everyone was able to finish the road they started."

Maybe its a different context but right now, I'm scared. I'm scared that there will be a point in time in our youth that we sit together, and look around... hay.

Buhay nga naman. Unpredictable.

I don't want to see less people in the end. I want to see more! Even if they're not the same faces, I'm determined to see more of them. For every person that leaves, 3 will be added!

THIS WILL HAPPEN.
